We will be learning to share experiences,<br \/>\nexpressing what they made us think or feel. We will<br \/>\ncontinue to practise the tools for writing, including<br \/>\npunctuation, grammar and handwriting.<\/p>\n<p>SPELLING &amp; PHONICS: We will continue learn new<br \/>\nspelling rules and patterns each week which will help us<br \/>\nspell more difficult words. We will be learning specialist<br \/>\nwords linked to our topic and will learning to check and<br \/>\nedit our writing appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>READING: Our class novel this term will be \u2018Wonder\u2019 by<br \/>\nR.J Palacio. We will be considering the purpose and main<br \/>\nidea of the text and develop informed views about the<br \/>\ntext looking at fact and opinion. We will continue to look<br \/>\nfor clues and evidence in the text to back up our<br \/>\nresponses and complete comprehension and close reading<br \/>\nactivities. To make links between the novel and real<br \/>\nexperiences and link to our health and wellbeing<br \/>\ndiscussions.<\/p>\n<p>LISTENING &amp; TALKING: We will continue to regularly<br \/>\nselect and create texts of choice and share them in<br \/>\ndifferent ways. There will be opportunities for listening<br \/>\nand talking through our H&amp;B discussions. We will also be<br \/>\ncreating personal projects which will be shared with the<br \/>\nclass in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n<p>Numeracy and Mathematics<br \/>\nNUMERACY: We will start the term off by<br \/>\ncompleting our division topic started last term. We<br \/>\nwill then move onto decimals, fractions and<br \/>\npercentages and look at the link between them and<br \/>\nhow we can use them in different ways. We will also<br \/>\nhave the opportunity to investigate equations with<br \/>\nalgebraic expressions and problems solving this<br \/>\nterm.<\/p>\n<p>MATHEMATICS:<br \/>\nIn maths, we will complete the money topic started<br \/>\nlast term then we will move onto looking at data<br \/>\nhandling. In data handling we will be looking at<br \/>\ndifferent ways to interpret data using different<br \/>\ntypes of graphs. We will also introduce scale.<br \/>\nHealth and Wellbeing<br \/>\nP6b &#8211; Our P.E days are Monday &amp; Wednesday.<br \/>\nP6a \u2013 Our P.E days are Monday &amp; Tuesday.<br \/>\nIn PE we will be covering racquet sports, gymnastics and<br \/>\nathletics. Sports Day will be on Thursday 14th of May.<\/p>\n<p>Health:<br \/>\nWe will be continuing to focus on kindness, friendship and<br \/>\nrespect. We will continue to express ourselves in a<br \/>\npositive manner. We will be using Emotion Works and<br \/>\nTreehouse resource to support us in this. We will also<br \/>\ncover the primary 6 targets following the National<br \/>\nResource for Relationships, Sexual<br \/>\nHealth and Parenthood (RSHP) education for children and<br \/>\nyoung people.<br \/>\nOur Topic will be about\u2026<br \/>\nBODY SYSTEMS AND CELLS<\/p>\n<p>We will explore the structure and function of sensory<br \/>\norgans, looking at body systems and how they support our<br \/>\ngrowth and development. We will investigate the role of<br \/>\nmicro-organisms in producing and breaking down materials.<br \/>\nWe will investigate lifecycles of plants and animals.
