Welcome to our P5a class page.<\/p>\n

Here you will find information about our class, our learning and homework. Please check our page on a weekly basis for the most up to date information.<\/p>\n

Our teacher is Mrs Beck.<\/p>\n

We have 31 pupils in our class.<\/p>\n

PE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Cardus will take the class for PE on a Thursday. Please come to school in your PE kit every Thursday. PE lessons take place both indoors and outdoors so please remember to dress appropriately for the weather.<\/p>\n

HOMEWORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

This will be set on a Wednesday and will be due to be returned the following Monday.<\/p>\n

READING – Check your reading record for details of this. Some groups have set reading pages to complete whilst others have been sent a comprehension task this week.<\/p>\n

Spelling – Use the purple spelling booklet to support you when completing this job. Choose one job from the booklet and complete this job with the list of words you have been given. Our focus for the term continues to be common and commonly misspelled words. Please remember to write the title of your job, date and name on your spelling sheet before returning this on Monday.<\/p>\n

LEARNING REVIEW – 18th September 2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who came to join us for our, ‘Learn with Us’ afternoon. It was lovely to see so many familiar and new faces in the classroom.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This week in class has been another exceptionally busy week! I can hardly believe we are at the end of week five already. Here is a snapshot of our learning from this week.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Numeracy – We continued to develop our confidence with the partitioning and recombining strategy when solving addition problems.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Literacy (Reading) – We have came up with new names for our reading groups which are book themed!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Literacy (Writing) – We again continued with our descriptive language focus linked to a villainous character! We described Miss Trunchbull from the novel, ‘Matilda’.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Technologies – We have been getting set up on GLOW this week. We have all managed to log in and change our password. We were learning about what makes a strong password when doing this.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Art – This week we were learning about several Scottish graffiti artists. We linked this to our project and we also linked this to HWB as we used words to describe what makes us unique and diverse. We hope you enjoyed sharing this learning with us on Thursday.<\/div>\n

Assembly – We had our very first ‘House Huddles’ this week. We were further introduced to the House and Vice Captains and we were learning a bit about how the house names were chosen.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
NEXT WEEK – Next week we will be designing our annual Christmas cards believe it or not! If you have any spare Christmas wrapping paper at home we would really appreciate it if you would allow us to use this for our designs. Please send this to class ASAP! I am not sure if the shops even have Christmas paper being sold but I will also look out for this before the lesson!<\/div>\n
