{"id":1008,"date":"2023-10-03T17:49:39","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T16:49:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/lynburnps\/?page_id=1008"},"modified":"2023-10-03T17:49:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T16:49:39","slug":"illness-and-medication","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/lynburnps\/nursery\/illness-and-medication\/","title":{"rendered":"Illness and Medication"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"paragraph_Os3niE60mq8\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span id=\"text_U16gky5eaD5\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\">Illnesses<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_Bz3niEM0mq8\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_daN7X3EGlF9\" class=\"\">Please inform us if your child is going to be absent and the reason for their absence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_oe3niEc-mq8\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_28V2d6aqLG-\" class=\"\">In the event your child has sickness and\/or diarrhoea the key message is for infected pupils to stay at home for the 48 hours after symptoms have stopped, to avoid spreading any further.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_bl3niEs-mq8\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_8IHBiHOVGJB\" class=\"\">Symptoms can include slight fever, headaches, stomach cramps and aching limbs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_CR3niE6-mq8\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_sl8sRgx-h8A\" class=\"\">To help minimise the spread of the virus please<\/span><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li id=\"paragraph_uffviNqcoA6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_L-J7cm6cF-7\" class=\"\">Keep hands clean \u2013 washing thoroughly with soap and water<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"paragraph_hmfviN4doA6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_nSNB8aLm5B3\" class=\"\">Keep all surfaces clean and disinfected<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"paragraph_ISfviNKcoA6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_iYeM4XGzPF4\" class=\"\">Don\u2019t share towels\/flannels<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"paragraph_5ZfviNacoA6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_fn8vMXILz0D\" class=\"\">Avoid eating raw and unwashed food<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"paragraph_MkR-pWVkNS1\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span id=\"text_gLIYGdoOIKD\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\">Medication<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_9rR-pWlkNS1\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_NrV-IS8F8w0\" class=\"\">If your child requires medication in nursery during their nursery session, then this must be prescribed medication that is clearly labelled, and appropriate tools provided (medication spoon\/ syringe). Nursery staff cannot administer the first dose of any medication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_yxR-pW-lNS1\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_1jgEW_dyzT1\" class=\"\">If you give your child medication before their nursery session, then please inform staff and complete the relevant paperwork.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_l2S-pWFlNS1\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_i8vF7lQYYd1\" class=\"\">We continue to review policy and procedures with regards to administering medication and continue to require you to sign the paperwork we use every time your child receives medication whilst in nursery.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Illnesses Please inform us if your child is going to be absent and the reason for their absence.
