KHS World Cup Tournament (Mrs Steedman)<\/strong>
\nReminder to put your teams in for the tournament starting next Tuesday and Thursday. Scan the QR code around the school to enter your team of 8. Teams will be put up on the notice board in PE with your allocated country. There will be a junior and senior tournament running.<\/p>\n

The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to KHS! (Mr Wadsworth)<\/strong>
\nFrom Wednesday 3rd – Friday 12th of June, you can find a selection of genres and trending titles at great prices!
\nThe Book Fair will be held in B23 with Mr Wadsworth each breaktime, so pop by to pick up your next adventure!<\/p>\n

Sports Day (Mrs Poynter)<\/strong>
\nThe pupils that have qualified for Sports Day will be displayed on the P.E notice board, well done to those who have qualified! If you do not want take part in Sports Day please let a member of the P.E department know ASAP. Sports Day will take place on Friday the 12th of June, there will be more information to follow.<\/p>\n

Quadcopter Challenge S2 (Miss Barclay)<\/strong>
\nRaytheon have sent us the 2026 Quadcopter handbook and we have been given our first deadline of 11th June. All Quadcopter teams should meet in Miss Barclay’s room (maths B4) at lunchtimes to begin designing our quadcopters and to come up with a schedule of work.<\/p>\n

Definition:\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>To usurp something (such as power) is to take and keep it by force and without the right to do so. Usurp can also mean “to take the place of by or as if by force.”<\/p>\n

Example:<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong> Some people have accused city council members of trying to usurp the mayor\u2019s power.<\/p>\n

Fact:\u00a0\u00a0<\/em> \u00bc of the people across the world still do not have access to clean water. This can lead to death by dehydration or through illnesses caught by drinking unclean water.<\/p>\n

\nWe present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy\u2019s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray\u2019s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch\/building pass.<\/p>\n

S2 Code Club (Mr Turnbull)<\/strong>
\nCalling all likeminded S2 with an interest in coding. Meet in D6 every Wed. Bring your lunch. See Mr Turnbull in D6 for a pass.<\/p>\n

The Treblemakers Choir (Mr Wilkie)<\/strong>
\nDo you love singing? Do you love performing? Warmup your vocal cords as ‘The Treblemakers Choir’ is just for you. Come and join Mrs Simpson and Mr Wilkie in the Music department on Wednesday’s afterschool in room E13. We are asking you to join The Treblemakers if you have interest in joining future school shows. All are welcome.<\/p>\n

Chess Club (Mr Morrice)<\/strong>
\nChess club runs Wednesday lunchtimes in A9, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand master\u2019s welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black or Mr Morrice if you would like to come along.<\/p>\n

Anime & Manga Club (Mrs Kelsey)<\/strong>
\nThe Anime and Manga club runs every Wednesday lunchtime with Ms Kelsey in B29. Come along to watch anime, read manga, and draw manga.<\/p>\n

Physics Study Support (Ms Solowczuk)<\/strong>
\nThis will run on Wednesdays after school. Come and see any Physics teacher in A7, A9 or A10.<\/p>\n

\nAre you baffled by bonding, addled by atoms, or flummoxed by formulae? If so, Chemistry Study Support is available Thursday after school in A4\/A5\/A6. Bring all your problems to the lab bench. You could even use it as a quiet space to get some homework done. Everyone is welcome!<\/p>\n
