Welcome to our weekly family and community communication that provides a Headteacher overview of the weeks events and other school-based events and information.<\/p>\n
The week that\u2019s been\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Where does the time go! Another week over and only 6 weeks left of this session! It has been busy for all.<\/p>\n Over the course of the week, examinations continued. This week we have had: PE (Higher), Modern Studies (all levels), Computing (all levels), Sociology (Higher), Physics (all levels) and Classics (all levels). All our candidates are bearing up and doing a fantastic job. Well done to all and one week to go!<\/p>\n For all our learners in S2 \u2013 S4, learning continues with lots of engagement. It is also good to note that our updated and new policies have went well over the course of the past couple of weeks. Our staff were very excited to receive a new mobile phone box to collect phones with soft inserts to ensure phones are not damaged. It\u2019s the small things that keep us going! On a serious note, I would like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement with these polices. It has only been a week or so but it is making a positive difference.<\/p>\n If you want to read more about what is happening here at KHS, please follow our blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n Please see below some info to share with you:<\/p>\n Barnardo\u2019s Fife Substance Use Education<\/a> team is hosting their last interactive session of the academic year for parents and carers, and you\u2019re warmly invited to join us.<\/em><\/p>\n When:<\/strong>\u202fThurs 4th\u202fJune 6:30-8:30pm<\/em><\/p>\n Where:<\/strong>\u202fBarnardo\u2019s Fife Office, Mitchelston Industrial Estate, Kirkcaldy KY1 3NJ<\/em><\/p>\n If you have a young person in P7 or high school in Fife, this workshop is a valuable opportunity to:<\/em><\/p>\n Understand the current landscape of drug use among young people.<\/em><\/p>\n Build confidence in having open, honest conversations at home.<\/em><\/p>\n Gain practical knowledge and support from our experienced team.<\/em><\/p>\n Book your place on Eventbrite<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n The week ahead\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Next week is a busy week both in and out of school. We have around 40 young people and 4 staff heading off on the Battlefields trip, leaving early on Sunday morning. We wish all a safe and enjoyable trip.<\/p>\n Our English department are also undertaking some self-evaluation over the first few days of next week. As part of this, the faculty will be seeking views of our young people, families and colleagues in the faculty to support.<\/p>\n On Thursday, our new S3 will be taking part in an Inter-disciplinary programme called Marseum across the full day.
