This is the last Our Week, Our School before the festive break. <\/p>\n
The week that\u2019s been\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n It has been a whirlwind of a week here in KHS and it\u2019s starting to feel a little festive now that the holidays are in sight! <\/p>\n Wednesday was a very busy day in KHS as our young people received flu vaccinations over the entire day. Lots of ins and outs but many taking the opportunity to protect themselves and others by taking the vaccination. Well done to all for the bravery! <\/p>\n On Thursday, our Supported Learning faculty threw open the doors for an open afternoon in the faculty. Families had the opportunity to visit the faculty, speak to teachers and support assistants. Families could also view work from their child and undertake some fantastic activities. Thank you to Mrs Stewart and the team for their work in organising a successful event. Thank you to all families who attened. <\/p>\n Later that evening, we welcomed young people from S5\/6 as they took part in the first Winter Formal since before COVID. A well planned and organised event by our S5\/6 events class led to a fantastic evening full of fun, dancing and buffet! Our young people looked fantastic in their formal wear and were a complete credit to themselves, families and our community. A massive thank you and well done to the S5\/6 events class and all staff who supported the event. Well done to all who attended and had a splendid evening too. <\/p>\n As ever, if you want to read more about what is happening here at KHS, please follow our blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mrs Duckett has asked me to share the following information with you: <\/p>\n “Woodwind Masterclass:<\/p>\n Our woodwind pupils and S3\u2013S6 musicians recently enjoyed an inspiring masterclass<\/a> led by\u202fKatherine Spencer\u202fand\u202fSam Hayward. They explored how to listen to live music as a\u202fdreamer, a\u202frealist, and a\u202fcritic, gaining valuable insights into performance and interpretation. <\/p>\n Hearing world-renowned clarinettist Katherine Spencer in person was a real highlight, and we\u2019re grateful to\u202fKirkcaldy Music Society\u202ffor their generous support to enable the event to take place. We are very proud of two of our pupils, Caitlin and Josie, who performed for us all \u2014 their confidence and musicality were truly inspiring and a wonderful example of the talent and ambition within our school. Brava!”<\/em><\/p>\n Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n Don\u2019t forget \u2014 our\u202fChristmas Concert\u202ftakes place on\u202fTuesday, 16th December at 6:30pm. Join us for an evening of festive music and celebration. It promises to be a magical event you won\u2019t want to miss! Please send your child to collect tickets from Mrs Duckett if you have ordered them! <\/p>\n House Points<\/strong><\/p>\n Please see below the House Points:<\/p>\n This weeks total:<\/strong> Overall total:<\/strong> The week ahead\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n Next week is the final week of this term and school closes on Friday 19th December 2025<\/strong> at 1.05pm for young people. The last day will be a non-uniform day and young people can wear school sensible clothing of their choosing. As ever, we ask for a donation (where possible) to support a charity which for this term is \u2018Therapet<\/a>\u2019. <\/p>\n Before we get to the last day of term, we also have the Christmas Fayre<\/a> (4.45pm \u2013 6.15pm) and Concert<\/a> (6.30pm start) taking place on Tuesday.
