STEM Speed Dating (Dr Murray)<\/strong>
\nWell done to everyone in S3 who took part in the “STEM Speed Dating”! You were absolutely fantastic. Your maturity and respect really stood out, and so many of the ambassadors commented on how much they enjoyed chatting with you. You should all be really proud – bunch of stars! \ud83c\udf1f<\/p>\n

\nWe\u2019re launching a competition to design the official poster for this year\u2019s Christmas Concert!

Christmas Fayre \u2013 Raffle Donations (Events Team & Mr. Caldwell)<\/strong>
\nWe\u2019re excited to announce the Kirkcaldy High School Christmas Fayre on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, and we\u2019d love your help to make it extra special! We\u2019re putting together a festive raffle to raise funds for local charities, and would be so grateful for any donations – big or small – whether it\u2019s a gift, voucher, or larger prize. Every contribution helps us create a brilliant selection of prizes, and donors will be warmly acknowledged at the event. Donations can be dropped off in D10. \nOver the month of November, we will be celebrating… Turkey<\/strong><\/em>! So, “Merhaba” –\u00a0hello in turkish<\/a>\u00a0(click for sound and pronunciation)<\/p>\n

Fact of the week – Turkish Coffee is officially recognised by UNESCO because it has very specific preparation techniques.<\/p>\n

Definition:<\/strong> To bamboozle<\/em> someone is to deceive, trick, or confuse them.<\/p>\n

Example: <\/strong> The salesperson bamboozled<\/em> us into getting a more expensive item than we had planned to buy.<\/p>\n

Fact: <\/em>In KHS we try to listen to your views as much as possible through pupil led groups, leadership opportunities such as junior and senior house captains and also through focus groups. If you would like to be part of these and have not had the chance, see Miss Young in B14.<\/p>\n

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray) \ud83d\udcfb<\/strong>
\nWe present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy\u2019s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray\u2019s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch\/building pass.<\/p>\n

S2 Code Club (Mr Turnbull)<\/strong>
\nCalling all likeminded S2 with an interest in coding. Meet in D6 every Wed. Bring your lunch. See Mr Turnbull in D6 for a pass.<\/p>\n

The Treblemakers Choir (Mr Wilkie)<\/strong>
\nDo you love singing? Do you love performing? Warmup your vocal cords as ‘The Treblemakers Choir’ is just for you. Come and join Mrs Simpson and Mr Wilkie in the Music department on Wednesday’s afterschool in room E13. We are asking you to join The Treblemakers if you have interest in joining future school shows. All are welcome.<\/p>\n

\nChess club runs Wednesday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand master\u2019s welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black or Mr Morrice if you would like to come along.<\/p>\n

Anime & Manga Club (Mrs Kelsey)<\/strong>
\nThe Anime and Manga club runs every Wednesday lunchtime with Ms Kelsey in B29. Come along to watch anime, read manga, and draw manga.<\/p>\n

Physics Study Support (Ms Solowczuk)<\/strong>
\nThis will run on Wednesdays after school. Come and see any Physics teacher in A7, A9 or A10.<\/p>\n
