The Summer Kickstart programmes have been made possible through the generous support of the Savoy Educational Trust and Scottish Children&#8217;s Lottery Trust.<\/p>\n<p>The fortnight training programme offered the young people training and opportunities for a chance to discuss a career in hotels, restaurants and food service management organisations. Springboard is the beginning of a young person\u2019s involvement in a life changing programme that will ultimately provide them with the confidence, and an opportunity to begin a fulfilling career in hospitality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"longdesc-return-15561\" longdesc=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/kirkcaldyhighschool?longdesc=15561&#038;referrer=15558\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/public\/kirkcaldyhighschool\/uploads\/sites\/12475\/2025\/06\/27144842\/2025-06-27-Springboard-Summer-School-6-300x176.png\" alt=\"Career Development at the Springboard Summer School\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-15561\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/public\/kirkcaldyhighschool\/uploads\/sites\/12475\/2025\/06\/27144842\/2025-06-27-Springboard-Summer-School-6-300x176.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/public\/kirkcaldyhighschool\/uploads\/sites\/12475\/2025\/06\/27144842\/2025-06-27-Springboard-Summer-School-6.png 571w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Some of the young people stated that their highlights were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gaining a passion for the hospitality industry and gaining a better understanding of the different options, roles and opportunities available and what is involved within the industry<\/li>\n<li>Completing some industry qualifications (FLOW modules)<\/li>\n<li>Gaining practical skills and Work Experience<\/li>\n<li>Became excited and hopeful about future opportunities in training and development within the industry through apprenticeships\/college as well as part time\/full time work opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Building upon their employability and personal Development skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We all had an amazing time.
