France Trip 2026 (Miss Coggill)<\/strong>
\nFantastic News! The 2026 French trip has been given the go ahead! This will include visits to EuroDisney, Battlefields and Paris. If any pupils from S1-S3 are interested in this trip, can they please attend a meeting in C7 during break on Wednesday.

\nSenior Football (Mr Caldwell)<\/strong>
\nSenior Football meeting today at Break Time in D7 for all S5\/S6 who would like to be considered for this Fridays Scottish Cup game in Aberdeen.<\/p>\n

Tempest Photographs (Mrs Spence)<\/strong>
\nIf you (or your parent\/carer) ordered a photograph from Tempest, please collect it from the school office either during breaktime or lunchtime, or after school. Thank you.<\/p>\n

Remembrance Day 2024 (Mrs Harrower)<\/strong>
\nThe House Captains will be coming around classes, giving you the opportunity to donate money for a Poppy. There is no minimum donation and all money raised, will go directly to Poppy Scotland. Poppy Scotland help current members and veterans of the armed forces.<\/p>\n

My World of Work Ambassadors S5\/6 (Miss Akers)<\/strong>
\nThis additional role will include spreading the word about MyWoW and the resources available to other pupils, parents and teachers. The ambassador programme is a great opportunity to build your CV and develop transferable skills. Please see Miss Akers or Mrs Davidson if you would like to be a My World of Work Ambassador.<\/p>\n

Matilda Auditions (Ms Bruce)<\/strong>
\nIf you still want to audition for a part in the school musical, you must see Mr Wilkie for an audition piece asap. Auditions for the main speaking roles will take place afterschool on Wednesday (6th November) at 3.25pm. Those wanting to do a backstage role or be part of the ensemble do not need to audition, but should give their name to Ms Bruce\/Mr Wilkie.<\/p>\n

S1 and S2 Netball (Mrs Poynter)<\/strong>
\nNetball will be on after school on Wednesday this week due to a staff meeting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

DYW Ambassadors (Mr. McCowan)<\/strong>
\nS5s and S6s!
\nAre you interested in a career in business or leadership? Would you like to help connect KHS with companies, businesses and colleges\/universities? Then you should become a DYW Ambassador!<\/p>\n

Mr. McCowan is looking for some senior pupils to help with a range of activities in the school, including:<\/p>\n

Running the Careers Fair, a Jobs Fair, and business outreach events
\nMaintaining a noticeboard with info on apprenticeships, jobs, and university open days
\nHelping with employer visits to KHS
\nPromoting KHS to the wider community
\nIf this is of interest then please attend a meeting in C4 on Monday at break time.<\/p>\n

Right of the Fortnight: Article 38 Protection in War (Miss Young)<\/strong>
\nAs remembrance day approaches and we reflect on the sacrifices made by our armed forces across the world we will also think about many of the young people that have been affected by war across the world. For example, as the Israel Palestine conflict continues the number of young people effected continues to rise. Currently over 12,000 children have lost their lives since October 2023 as a result of this.<\/p>\n

Kirkcaldy Youth Forum!<\/strong>
\nKirkcaldy is starting a Youth Forum! A Youth Forum is a group led by young people to voice what changes they would like to make within their community.\u00a0 Come along to our event and discuss your community with other young people, have a voice in decision making and also have some fun!
\nTrust us\u2026it\u2019s very demure\u2026very mindful!\u00a0 Come along to the first meeting on Tuesday 5th November (5:30pm) at Kirkcaldy Townhouse\u00a0 P.S. Food will be included\u2026<\/p>\n

LGBT+ Group (Dr Murray) \ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\u26a7\ufe0f<\/strong>
\nThe LGBT+ Group meets on Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray\u2019s room in Science). It is a social space open to EVERYONE whether you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, any other identity, or an ally of the community. See Dr Murray for a pass if you want to come. Bring your lunch!<\/p>\n

Creative Well-being Club (PSO Team)<\/strong>
\nThere is a new opportunity open to pupils to join the Creative Well-being Club. The group will be creating and designing a new school poster to showcase the well-being indicators and what they are. This will run on Tuesday lunchtimes in the Inclusion Hub. There will be a house point incentive for participating.<\/p>\n

Enterprising Maths Club (Mr Jones & Ms Barclay)<\/strong>
\nAre you a maths whiz looking for a club where you can really challenge yourself? Join our Enterprising Maths Club and tackle mind-bending problems with other students. There’s even a chance to represent the school in maths competitions, so get involved! Come to B4 every Tuesday lunchtime.<\/p>\n

S1-S6 Dance Club (Miss Johnston & Mrs Poynter)<\/strong>
\nDance Club will be running for all S1 to S6 after school on Tuesdays at 3.25pm<\/p>\n

S1-3 Study Club (Dr Black)<\/strong>
\nIf you need a place to complete your homework or get some extra practice in come along to D10 on Tuesday lunchtimes (1:15-1:45)<\/p>\n

Chemistry Study Support (Chemistry Teachers)<\/strong>
\nIf you need help with any aspect of Chemistry or S1-S2 science, at any level then Chemistry Study Support is the place to get it. One of your happy, smiling chemistry teachers will be available Tuesday 3.30pm-4.30pm in either of A4, A5, or A6 for all your questions, queries and conundrums. You could also simply use this as a quiet place to study, or even get that homework task completed that you\u2019ve been putting off since the dawn of time. All welcome!<\/p>\n

\nAnime and Manga club will be on a Wednesday lunchtime in B29.<\/p>\n
