Outdoor Learning is a big part of life at Kingsbarns.\u00a0 We are incredibly lucky to have the beach, the forest and Cambo estate within 1km from school where we have our outdoor learning sessions.\u00a0 Almost all of the curriculum can be covered in these fantastic outdoor environments and we do maths, technologies, social studies, science, art and literacy work outdoors.\u00a0 Outdoor learning gives children the opportunity to push themselves out of their comfort zone and build resilience.\u00a0 Team work, problem solving and creativity skills are all developed.<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of the outdoor learning calendar at Kingsbarns are our annual hill walks. P4\/5 have the chance to climb East or West Lomond while P6\/7 experience the Scottish mountain environment and tackle a Corbett or a Munro. \u00a0What a great achievement!<\/p>\n

Monday 28th February:<\/p>\n

P5-7 geology challenge. Inspired by Zac\u2019s ambition to be a palaeontologist, we learned about the sedimentary rock and fossils on our beach.<\/p>\n

21st February:<\/p>\n

As part of their project on Europe, P5-7 worked hard in their house teams to create outline maps of Italy, France and Norway.\u00a0 Norway was particularly challenging with its intricate coastline.\u00a0 Enjoy the photos.<\/p>\n
