Sometimes circumstances out with our control mean we need to close and this may be at short notice. Sometimes, for example if there is a red weather warning or significant snow fall, the evening before, there may be a blanket school closure – hopefully communicated before 7am.\u00a0 When the situation is not as clear, the situation with the weather evolves rapidly and parents may get a message close to 9am or even during the day to say the school needs to close.<\/p>\n
In the context of severe weather, the safety of staff, pupils and parents takes priority. There may be times when we open but with fewer staff\u00a0 (made up of those who can make the journey safely to school and sometimes other Fife Council teachers who live nearby but can\u2019t make it to their own schools) \u2013 when this is the case, we may need to operate a partial closure and ask you to have your children at home.\u00a0 if you are able to (for example if you are not at work or are working from home) \u2013 this is to keep the numbers low so that they school is safely staffed.<\/p>\n
In the morning if there is any\u00a0 type of severe weather (including if there is a red weather warning), please do the following:<\/p>\n
