These charters are then displayed in the Nursery\/Classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Children have the opportunity to be selected for a variety of different roles within the school in order to allow the pupil voice to be heard. Pupils are elected at the beginning of each session to represent their class.<\/p>\n<p>The roles include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pupil Council (P3-7) (x2)Library Rep<\/li>\n<li>Eco Rep<\/li>\n<li>PEPAS Rep<\/li>\n<li>Rights Kid<\/li>\n<li>Junior Road Safety Officers (P7s)<\/li>\n<li>Playground Pals (P6s)<\/li>\n<li>House Captains and Vice Captains (P7 and P4)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Pupil Council<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>We have\u00a0pupil council\u00a0representatives from classes\u00a0across primary 3-7.\u00a0\u00a0Pupils who are elected from these classes\u00a0represent the views of all pupils and\u00a0aim to\u00a0improve our school. These pupils attend regular meetings with Mrs Simpson in order to allow the pupil voice to be heard.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">PEPAS Rep<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport (PEPAS) is a Scottish Government\u00a0initiative which promotes quality learning in physical education, opportunties for physical activity and sport across Fife.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Simpson is the PEPAS representative for\u00a0Kennoway Primary School and the cluster.<\/p>\n<p>We have\u00a0PEPAS representatives from each class across the school.\u00a0Pupils who are elected\u00a0from each class attend meetings with Mr Simpson and represent the views of all pupils in relation to physical education, physical activity and sport.<\/p>\n<p>We have Sports Leaders from Primary 7. Sports Leaders help organise and run clubs for younger pupils, promoting pupil leadership skills.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Library Rep<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our school\u00a0library provides a flexible space with a wide and inclusive range of resources.\u00a0It plays a key role in supporting and developing literacy and the enjoyment of reading.<\/p>\n<p>We have Library\u00a0representatives from all classes\u00a0across the school. They attend regular meetings and work hard to\u00a0maintain\u00a0the standard of our\u00a0Library.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Playground Pals<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Playground Pals are children in P6 who help play games with the children in the P1\/2 playground.\u00a0 There are five teams of about 8 children who each work in the playground at break and lunchtime one day per week.\u00a0 At the end of P5 the children who would like to do this job have to write a letter of application and be interviewed by a member of the management team.\u00a0 Once the playground pals are selected they receive regular training on playground games by Mrs Lamb.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">School House Team\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>From Primary 1 to\u00a0Primary 7\u00a0every child in Kennoway Primary School is part of a school house team.<\/p>\n<p>Each house has a colour:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Denhead<\/strong>&#8211; Red<\/p>\n<p><strong>Springbank-\u00a0<\/strong>Green<\/p>\n<p><strong>Halfields<\/strong>&#8211; Yellow<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burnside<\/strong>&#8211; Blue<\/p>\n<p>We often use house teams when grouping children for a variety of activities across the school and for Sports Day competitions.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">House Captains and Vice Captains<\/span><\/p>\n<p>House Captains and Vice Captains are elected from Primary 7 and Primary 4. House Captains and Vice Captains play an important role in pupil leadership. They meet regularly and work co-operatively with other children across the school and members of staff.<\/p>\n<p>House\u00a0Captains and Vice Captains embody the values and ethos of the school and contribute to\u00a0many activities across the school.
