National 5 Practical Cookery

Welcome to our National 5 Practical Cookery Page. In National 5 PC, pupils learn to work under pressure to prepare 2 and 3 course menus in a limited time. Through research and activities we grasp a good knowledge of ingredients, health, hygiene, safety, time planning and costing ingredients.

At the end of the year, pupils sit 3 exams for Practical Cookery:

  • Assignment – time plan & equipment list for final recipes
  • Practical Activity – 3 course menu in 2.5 hours
  • Written Paper – assessing knowledge

Pupils will sit a prelim in January to practice.
