We all have a part to play to ensure that you are safe and your needs are met. Here in Fife, we believe that \u201cchild protection is everyone\u2019s job and everyone\u2019s responsibility\u201d. It\u2019s normal for young people to face emotional challenges growing up and their mental health is as important as their general physical health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>We recognise that everyone has a role to play in supporting young people to keep emotionally well and thinking about what might help when someone needs additional support with their mental health. We think it\u2019s important to think about what we do in a flexible way, with different layers of support and action from different people and services. Click here for more details.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families<\/p>\n<p>You may find these leaflets from the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families useful when talking about mental health with your child. \u00b7 You\u2019re never too young to talk mental health \u00b7 Talking mental health with young people in secondary school<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Glow Access Therapies Fife<\/p>\n<p>Glow: An anxiety management resource for primary school age children (8 years-11 years) GLOW \u2013 online anxiety resource for primary school children \u2013 Access Therapies Fife NHS (scot.nhs.uk)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FIRST AID PROCEDURES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Guardbridge Primary School we take our duty of care for our pupils very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>If your child is hurt or ill at school we will administer the necessary first aid and care and we will contact you to let you know.<\/p>\n<p>If the injury or illness needs action by you or medical attention, we will call all the numbers we have on file for your child until we can arrange for you or a designated emergency contact to come and collect them. In the unlikely event of a major incident, we would seek medical advice as well as calling you. We do ask that a parent or emergency contact is available at all times during the school day so that we can contact you in the event of an incident and ensure your wishes are followed. Please keep your contact details up to date for this reason<\/p>\n<p>If the injury is minor and your child can continue at school we will still let you know that the injury has happened. If your child has bumped their head you will receive a phone call and your child will be sent home with a letter in their bag. Guardbridge Primary School First Aid Procedure and Procedure for Notifying Parents First Aid Flow Chart \u2013 Primary Classes Fife Council: First Aid, illness and injuries in schools<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEDICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your child needs to take medication while at school, please contact the school office and ask to speak to Mrs Monro in the first instance.<\/p>\n<p>If your child requires regular prescription medication such as inhalers, EpiPen, antihistamines etc we can help you complete the necessary forms and prepare an action plan for your child.<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally your child may need over the counter medication or treatments such as antibiotics. You can print and hand in this form with your medication to the office.
