{"id":887,"date":"2026-04-29T12:48:21","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T11:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/fifeliteracy\/?page_id=887"},"modified":"2026-06-04T15:44:26","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T14:44:26","slug":"quality-improvement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/fifeliteracy\/quality-improvement\/","title":{"rendered":"Quality Improvement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"anchor-h4\">\n<p id=\"quality-improvement-programmes\" class=\"headingSpacingAbove headingSpacingBelow\"><strong>Quality Improvement Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>QI programmes are designed to improve attainment in reading and writing, while strengthening staff confidence in using improvement methodology to support learning, teaching and assessment of literacy in line with CfE benchmarks and Fife documentation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\" data-text-type=\"withSpacing\">Key aims of the QI Reading and Writing programmes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"customListStyle\">\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eaa7b4a9c38b3fa27e9e7332d68174b79\">Target\u00a0key reading or writing benchmarks to support improved outcomes for learners.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e693e195aeaedc5c398aa6d6a2c9709cb\">Use\u00a0Quality Improvement\u00a0methodology\u00a0to support raising attainment.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eea9583547f7ddc843cbf87e0e4e61177\">Develop\u00a0confidence and consistency in teacher professional judgement when assessing against\u00a0CfE\u00a0benchmarks.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e991627fa44eb0c0305bbf6e8b72fc702\">Through input from specialist professionals\u00a0(e.g.\u00a0SaLT, OT, Supporting Learners Service), teachers will develop greater insight into supporting literacy for learners with a range of Additional Support Needs.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ef960d9473026daeeb43f84119cfeef60\">Shape\u00a0high\u2011quality learning,\u00a0teaching\u00a0and assessment\u00a0approaches.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e1fb34f0204ab62d7c09c2740ce4936ba\">Ensure\u00a0effective progress from the outset\u00a0through well\u2011planned, targeted\u00a0approach to the teaching of reading and writing.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e50be9923c40496fcf6bf2cf54fc237b3\">Opportunities to moderate and work with colleagues from across the Local Authority.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ecbb00f0b6c801b73a62ceb677b70225c\">Opportunities to increase confidence in using Fife Documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cohorts are running from September 2026 &#8211;
