This introductory session explores the latest research on reading for pleasure and highlights what matters most to children themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Following the webinar, a series of four fee\u2011paying online sessions will run between April and June, each focused on a different aspect of children\u2019s reading and writing. Designed for UK primary teachers, school leaders, literacy leads and education consultants, the sessions offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Insights from contemporary research<\/li>\n<li>Practical implications for classroom practice<\/li>\n<li>A curated collection of open\u2011access research articles<\/li>\n<li>A certificate of completion for attending all four sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Programme of Sessions (16:00\u201317:00, online):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Session 1 \u2013 Thursday 30 April: Learning to read<\/li>\n<li>Session 2 \u2013 Thursday 14 May: Reading motivation and engagement<\/li>\n<li>Session 3 \u2013 Monday 1 June: Learning to write<\/li>\n<li>Session 4 \u2013 Monday 22 June: Writing motivation and engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cost: \u00a315 per session, or \u00a350 for all four.<\/p>\n<p>Spaces are limited. With a focus on supporting both the skill and the will in reading and writing, all those attending will have greater access and insight into contemporary research to support their classroom practice.<\/p>\n<p>A free webinar will be delivered online on Tuesday 14 April 2026 between 16:00pm-17:00pm entitled Supporting reading for pleasure in primary schools: Examining the evidence and children&#8217;s perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>There will be four subsequent paid online sessions focusing on children&#8217;s reading and writing which will take place between April and June delivered online from 16:00pm &#8211; 17:00pm.
