Monday<\/p>\n

Today the computers and I-pads were very popular with several children exploring different apps\/games on different devices. Developing their knowledge of technology, sharing\/taking turns and supporting one another when needed. \u00a0A variety of media was being explored at the drawing\/writing table and used to mark make, writing shopping lists, writing stories about, and drawing pictures, of their pets \ud83d\udc15\ud83d\udc07\ud83d\udc08, some of which they requested to be added to our learning wall about pets.<\/p>\n

Tuesday<\/p>\n

Today there was lots of creativity at the art\/craft table with binoculars, bridges, hovercrafts, tracks amongst other things being created using a variety of junk modelling materials. We used our designing, problem solving skills whilst sharing ideas. Some of our children noticed and commented on the bulbs, flowers, shoots appearing our nursery garden creating discussions about the different flowers, their names, how they grow, what colour they\u2019re going to be and what they need to grow \ud83c\udf1e\ud83d\udca6. It was birthday time at the dough table today with birthday cakes being made and decorated. Lots of mathematical discussion re size of the cakes, how many candles they were going to put on the cakes and how many people were coming to the birthday party\ud83c\udf82<\/p>\n

Wednesday<\/p>\n

Lots of designing, problem solving and sharing of ideas with the Lego today with a variety of houses and cars being created\ud83d\ude97\ud83c\udfe0. The story corner was popular with several children choosing, and asking for stories to be read developing our awareness of books\ud83d\udcda and expressing our likes and dislikes re our favourite stories etc. We enjoyed a bracing visit o the beach today with some children exploring the rock pools, some exploring the landscape discussing different objects, places they can see\ud83c\udff0\ud83c\udfd7\ufe0f. A few children searched the beach for shells\ud83d\udc1a and interesting stones creating lots of discussion using a wide range of vocabulary and mathematical language.<\/p>\n

Thursday<\/p>\n

We had our weekly visit to the primary school for our gym session today. Following our interest in pets we talked about our different pets and how they move. We then explored different ways of moving our bodies in ways to replicate the way our \u00a0pets move e.g. slithering, wriggling, jumping, walking, running\ud83d\udc15\ud83d\udc07\ud83d\udc08\ud83d\udc1b\ud83e\udeb1\ud83d\udc0d\ud83d\udc13 etc. We explored some gym apparatus learning how to use it safely and developing our turn taking skills. Some of the children shared\/ represented their ideas by using the bricks to build a house\ud83c\udfe0, planning where the bedrooms were and using the shop as their kitchen area. Lots of discussion and listening to each others ideas. One of the keyboards on our \u2018tinker\u2019 table was being used as a radio with one of our children pretending they were on the radio creating their own music\ud83c\udfb6<\/p>\n

Friday<\/p>\n

Continuing with our interest in pets some of our children researched answers to questions they had regarding their pets by using Google on the computer. With some adult support they copied and pasted the information they were looking for then printed it using the photocopier- developing our knowledge and use of technology.\ud83e\uddd1\u200d\ud83d\udcbb\ud83d\uddb1\ufe0f. They then added their information to our learning wall. Today we also visited the Community Gardens where we listened to some interesting information about mini beasts\ud83d\udc1b\ud83d\udc1e\ud83d\udd77\ufe0f\ud83d\udc0c\ud83e\udeb1\ud83d\udc1d and listened to a variety of mini beats related stories before helping collect wood, cones etc to create a woodpile next to the pond for the mini beasts in the garden. We also had to opportunity to plant beans some of which we brought back to nursery so we can watch them grow\ud83c\udf31\ud83e\udeb4.<\/p>\n
