W<\/strong>orld Book Day \u2013 Thursday 5th March 2026 – <\/strong>In the lead\u2011up to World Book Day, we have been exploring a wide variety of book- and story\u2011related activities in nursery.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday 2nd March<\/u>–
\nNursery staff walked with the children to Tayport Primary School to visit the Book Fair. The children enjoyed browsing and exploring the wide selection of books on offer.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 3rd March-<\/u>
\nWe watched a short Meet the Author<\/em> video featuring Julia Donaldson, whose books we have been enjoying in nursery.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week<\/u>, we have been encouraging the children to bring in their favourite book to share with everyone.<\/p>\n

Thursday 5th<\/sup> March<\/u> \u2013 We will be exploring a variety of ring games related to stories\/characters.<\/p>\n

On Friday 6th<\/sup> March<\/u>, the children will be voting for their favourite story of the week.<\/p>\n

Throughout this week<\/u> the children are having great fun creating their favourite storybook characters using a variety of art and craft materials. They have been using their models and puppets to retell their favourite stories, showing wonderful creativity and imagination.<\/p>\n

*Book Tokens – Everyone should now have received their World Book Day book token from nursery. If you haven\u2019t yet received yours, please speak to a member of staff.<\/p>\n

Science Week 6th<\/sup>-15th<\/sup> March<\/strong> 2026<\/strong>– The theme this year is \u2018Curiosity\u2019. We will be exploring a variety of simple science based activities.<\/p>\n

Peep<\/strong>. Our next block of PEEP sessions will start on Friday 6th<\/sup> March. If you have signed up we look forward to seeing you then.<\/p>\n

Stay & Play Sessions –<\/strong>We will shortly be inviting parents\/carers to stay, for a short time at drop off time, to spend time in nursery with their child to observe\/share their child\u2019s learning, their favourite activities etc. Younger siblings are welcome also but will be the sole responsibility of their parents<\/strong>. Dates still to be confirmed.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Learning Wall- <\/strong>Our current learning wall is all about stories\/books. \u00a0Please feel free to share any photos, experiences with your family etc so we can add them to our learning wall. This allows your child to share their home experiences and opens up more questions for children to explore.<\/p>\n

Junk Modelling- <\/strong>The junk modelling is very popular and in high demand of recyclable materials. If you could help by bringing in items such as cardboard boxes, egg boxes, ribbon, wool etc. these would be greatly received\u2026 and who knows what creation these will turn into!<\/p>\n

Sickness\/Illness<\/strong> \u2013 A gentle reminder that if your child is unwell (e.g. Vomiting & Diarrhoea) the guidelines are 48 hours exclusion from nursery from the last bout of sickness\/diarrhoea.<\/p>\n

Lending Library \u2013 <\/strong>These continue to be housed in our front hall. These are changed regularly providing new activities for you to explore. Please remember to sign books\/activities in and out. Thank you!<\/p>\n

Parents\/Carers Suggestion & Feedback Book <\/strong>Our Suggestion and Feedback Book<\/em> is available in the front hall, and we would love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to share any comments, suggestions, or ideas that could help us continue to improve our nursery experience.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Your feedback is always valued and appreciated.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Weather <\/strong>\u2013 Could all parents please ensure their child is appropriately dressed for the weather, especially on Beach Days, and that all clothing is clearly named. Thank you!<\/p>\n

Borrowed Clothes \u2013 <\/strong>Can parents please remember to return any clothes borrowed from nursery. Thank you.<\/strong><\/p>\n
