Monday<\/p>\n

Today some children demonstrated their creativity by using a variety of materials to represent their ideas. Before opening the outdoors we completed our daily risk assessment checking the garden was safe to pay in. We then enjoyed some energetic play exploring the bikes, scooters, balls etc – developing our gross motor skills and descriptive language \u201cI\u2019m going fast !\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s hard to push this!\u201d.

Tuesday<\/p>\n

Some children joined in a \u2018Wake Up Shake Up\u2019 \u00a0exercise video developing our listening skills and following instructions. We started our new Learning Wall about \u2018Books\u2019. We created mind maps noting what we already knew about books and what we want to find out about books! We chose a book from our story corner and after we\u2019d listened to the story we used our thumbs to show if we liked, didn\u2019t like or thought the story was ok.<\/p>\n

Wednesday<\/p>\n

Today as part of our Burns Day celebrations we listened to some Scottish music before trying some Highland dancing. We also marched to the music counting as marched . Some of the children anttempted to \u00a0identify some of the instruments we could hear e,g, bagpipes, drums etc. Some children experimented with scissors developing our cutting, hand\/eye coordination and fine motor skills.<\/p>\n

Thursday<\/p>\n

Today we practised our turn taking skills whilst playing a dominoes game – developing our counting skills and number awareness. \u00a0During this activity some children demonstrated their ability to subitise. \u00a0Lots of creativity with the playdough sharing ideas and dough tools creating lots of different structures, models e Most of the children enjoyed a Burns supper for lunch today as part of our Burns Day celebrations.<\/p>\n

\"\"Friday<\/p>\n

Today some children were planning, designing and building various structures in the brick area today. The playdough was popular again today with \u2018Birthdays\u2019 being the popular interest and lots of different shaped, sized Birthday cakes being created. The majority of children took turns to \u00a0perform our Scottish poem, for Burns Day, in front of the other children and staff. They each then received a certificate to celebrate their success.<\/p>\n
