Week commencing 25/11/2024.

Monday 25/11/2024.
A few children were being creative in the block area , lots of loose parts and imagination being used. They had created a ‘big house with a swimming pool’ . Through discussion they safely ‘jumped in the water’ with some adult intervention we talked about who helps us when in the water.
We were introduced to some clay modelling , exploring the different textures and using a variety materials to decorate.

Some children took an interest in the Kodaly bells, they were excited to explore different sounds, we had a child delegating when and who would ring the bells to create their own music,  we had loud, fast, slow and quiet.

Outside in the garden we created our very own obstacle course which included a lot of racing, jumping and balancing. We used some cones, bricks, logs, pipes and hula hoops. We gave ourselves challenges by trying bigger steps and faster running.

Today was beach day,  it was a chilly one so we all got wrapped up to take a nice walk down to the waterfront. The tide was in quite a bit, we managed to risk assess and ensure we were safe around the water. We even managed to enjoy some fruit by the water before coming back to nursery. We collected stones and shells to take back.

First thing in the morning we went along to the gym hall at the school, we got lots of practice with our body control as we were on a variety of different equipment, by following instruction we learned to take turns, and wait until it is safe to go on. For our cool down we played a small ring game. Later in the morning we had a small discussion about Thanksgiving and began to learn Christmas songs.

Friday 29/11/2024.
As it is St Andrews day tomorrow we had a little discussion about Scotland. We put on some Scottish country music to dance too , all of us took part, it was fun learning the different steps and dance names. Some free play later in the morning , the floor is lava, creative building and outdoor play.
