Week beginning Monday 16th February

Monday

It has been a busy start to the week with most of the children being very busy exploring in the garden. There was lots of imagination and role playing with the dinosaurs 🦖, with baths and exploring their habitats. Some children have spotted signs of spring in our garden, our snowdrop’s & daffodils beginning to show. Some children were able to share with their peers that we must not pick the flowers as they are for everyone to enjoy.

Tuesday

It was group 2 turn to explore at the beach this week, they explored the rocks & threw stones in the water as well as enjoying snack in the fresh air. Back at nursery the art area has been busy with some beautiful art being produced using pallet paint. We all had a chat today to learn about Ramadan where we learned about different traditions.

Wednesday

We are still developing our learning wall where we have been looking & listening to all different types of stories. We chatted about our favourite stories, listened to stories and watched a traditional fairytale on the smart board. Some of the children completed the Goldilocks & the three bear’s jigsaw which sparked role play, we will be making porridge for our children to taste.

Thursday

We went to the school today for gym, the children practiced their balance jumping & coordination skills. The gym offers lots of different challenge opportunities developing gross motor skills. Back at nursery the interest in climbing continued in the garden using our cubes.

Friday

With lots of team work & cooperation some of the children used the blocks to build a wall for a castle. This sparked role play & imagination whilst extending their own play.  In the garden climbing & jumping has been popular as well as lots of bike riding. The writing table has been busy with practicing letters & attempting to write their own name.
