Week beginning 16th June 2025

This morning some of the children planted our carrots and onions into bigger pots. They are growing well. We gave then some water.

A group of children made windmills with Mrs Wright then experimented with them in the garden to see how they move in the wind.

Tuesday

Some of the children have been exploring the new den, using their senses to explore the different textures and watching the light change on the disco balls.

A group of children went to explore the shore this morning. One of the children led the session by talking to the other children about the “beach rules” we explored the rocks, found creatures rock pools,
and used loose parts to create transient art.

Wednesday

This morning our preschool children enjoyed a transition day visit to school. They explored the class room discovering all of the new resources and meeting new friends. Then they had a group activity with a school teacher followed by lunch in the lunch hall with their families.

At nursery the children asked to play musical statues. With a little adult support they used the smart board to find music to dance to. All of the children listened well for the music to stop. Following instructions to play the game.

Thursday

A group of children made musical instruments using the junk modelling material. They used their instruments to make a band and played music for the audience.

We had an outdoor Bookbug session. We sang songs and rhymes together, played games with the sparkly blanket and enjoyed a story called Some of our children received a Bookbug bag to take home to share with their families. See link below for details of the gifting program.

Friday

This morning we made play dough, developing our maths skills by practicing weighing and measuring. We weighed and measured all of the ingredients and followed the recipe. Working well together to share and take turns. The children then used the dough to play a game of cafes, developing their role play games.

We have been keeping ourselves and our friends safe by doing the daily risks assessment in the garden. Ticking off if the gates are closed. We then check all of the garden before we start to play and move anything that should not be in the garden to keep us safe.
