Week Beginning 26th May 2025

Monday

There has been lots of creative designs made today at the junk modelling, some of the children explored mixing different paints to create new colours. There was good teamwork whilst discussing what colours to add to make the colours they wanted. In the garden most of the children played with the bubbles exploring different ways to make them, they chased & popped them round the garden.

Tuesday

The Dolphin group went to the beach today which was very exciting as this was the first time this group had went in a smaller group. We had our snack on the grass before we started exploring. Some children made up a game of throwing stones into a tyre that was in the water as well as lots of exploring in rock-pools. Back in nursery water play was popular using pipes & different loose parts.

Wednesday

We have had a new den built in the garden with the children using it in a variety of different ways. The blocks  were popular in the garden to create castles as well as other structures. The children used their imagination to create different characters in the play.  Some of the children visited the school for their transition visit spending time exploring  the Primary 1 class.

Thursday

Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

We have been very busy today, all of the children had a picnic with their teddies listening to music & chatting.  We then went on a teddy hunt round the nursery & garden,  enjoying strawberries at the end of the hunt.  We spent the rest of our morning dancing & exploring in the garden.  The parents were invited to join us for a cup of tea/coffee. The teddies had a fantastic day in nursery but all the excitement was a bit too much for them, so they decided to have a big cuddle & a wee rest.

Friday

Some of the children went  to book bug with their adult where they enjoyed lots of singing & stories. In the nursery some of the children spent time recreating the teddy bears  picnic we had yesterday. They set up a tea party for the bears where they spent time making them tea  &  feeding them. At the block area a a vets surgery was built, they took turns of checking the animals over.  There was lots of discussion about how to care for the animals, great team work & negotiating skills.
