Week Beginning Monday 28th April

Monday

It’s been a busy start to the week with the garden being a popular choice as the sun is shining.  In the mud kitchen there were some masterpieces being created by our busy chefs, they discussed the different ingredients to be added into their food. Lots of sharing of resources and fantastic teamwork. In the nursery ‘what’s in the bag’ progressed on to musical statues providing opportunities to dance, whilst listening to different styles of music.

Tuesday

We visited the beach today,  some of the children collected sea glass and stones. Some chose to bring back the stones to paint at nursery. The rock pools were full of shells and stones covered in barnacles which prompted conservations about why some stones have and some don’t. They’re was good use of imagination as some children role played on the grass area.

Wednesday

We have changed some of our areas in the garden over the last couple of weeks. Our new cosy story corner is an area where they can enjoy a quiet comfortable place to relax whilst listening to stories. Small world play in the garden has sparked imagination using our dinosaurs to create adventures. In the nursery the block area was busy building a stage for some of the children to perform. A child brought in a paper aeroplane they had made which prompted other children to make one. This then lead to  going into the garden to see who’s flew the furthest.

Thursday

We all visited the gym today where we were practicing different races for sports day learning how to move and control our bodies.
They listened and followed rules as well has encouraging each other. Back at nursery, in the garden football was a popular choice as well as using the hoola hoops in different ways.

Friday

The block area was busy with some children building a school which they then selected different materials to take into school. They took turns of role playing the teacher whilst the others had to listen and do their homework. In the garden there were lots of role playing using the car to go on adventures. The hoola hoops were also being used to jump into, using one or two legs.
