Careful support and management of issues will help children to manage their own behaviour, to learn how to negotiate and to be self-disciplined.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Offer solutions:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Teach children how to say \u2018no\u2019 to each other, firmly but kindly.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li value=\"5\">\u201cPlease don\u2019t push me, I don\u2019t like it.\u201d<\/li>\n<li value=\"5\">\u201cI will give you this spade if I can use that bucket now.\u201d<\/li>\n<li value=\"5\">\u00a0\u201cI will give you this spade as soon as I have filled my bucket.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Children will soon realise that they can take control of these situations. Staff need to observe and to be aware of children\u2019s relationships and any difficulties which arise.<\/p>\n<p>In a few cases a specific programme may need to be developed by the staff team to support a child.<\/p>\n<p>Difficult behaviour can occur for a number of reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a new baby<\/li>\n<li>family difficulties \u2013 unemployment\/ill health<\/li>\n<li>separation or divorce<\/li>\n<li>bereavement<\/li>\n<li>moving house<\/li>\n<li>different rules and expectations at home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some children find sharing toys and space more difficult than others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bullying<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nursery children are just beginning to learn how to relate to other children and adults. They are at the very early stages of developing friendships and have a lot to learn.<\/p>\n<p>Some children find learning to share and playing alongside other children more difficult than others.<\/p>\n<p>If a child or group of children need help to \u2018get along\u2019 or to share, staff will plan to support them until they can begin to manage their own behaviour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fife Council is committed to safe schools and to an active anti-bullying strategy being developed within each school.
