Our Vision, Values and Aims<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n

Our School Vision and Values were originally created with children, staff, families and our wider community in 2018 and are well embedded in our school life.<\/p>\n

They underpin the ethos and life within our school as well as all learning and teaching.<\/p>\n

Our School Aims<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our School Aims aligns with Scotland\u2019s National Well-being Indicators; Safe, Health, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible<\/strong> and Included<\/strong>.\u00a0 Further information can be found on the following link Scottish Government GIRFEC<\/a><\/p>\n

We want our children to be:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Safe<\/strong> \u2013 growing up in an environment where they feel secure, nurtured, listened to and enabled to develop to their full potential. This includes freedom from abuse or neglect.<\/p>\n

Healthy<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 having the highest attainable standards of physical and mental health, access to suitable healthcare, and support in learning to make healthy and safe choices.<\/p>\n

Achieving<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 being supported and guided in learning and in the development of skills, confidence and self-esteem, at home, in school and in the community.<\/p>\n

Nurtured<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 growing, developing and being cared for in an environment which provides the physical and emotional security, compassion and warmth necessary for healthy growth and to develop resilience and a positive identity.<\/p>\n

Active<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 having opportunities to take part in activities such as play, recreation and sport, which contribute to healthy growth and development, at home, in school and in the community.<\/p>\n

Respected<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 being involved in and having their voices heard in decisions that affect their life, with support where appropriate.<\/p>\n

Responsible<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 having opportunities and encouragement to play active and responsible roles at home, in school and in the community, and where necessary, having appropriate guidance and supervision.<\/p>\n

Included<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 having help to overcome inequalities and being accepted as part of their family, school and community.<\/p>\n

In practice, the eight indicators\/aims can be interconnected and overlapping.<\/p>\n

When considered together, they give a holistic view of each child or young person. They enable the child or young person, and the adults supporting them, to consider strengths, as well as any obstacles they may face to growth and development.<\/p>\n

Our School Song\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
