Use your home language to talk about stories and help with homework.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-processed=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-processed=\"true\">Encourage reading:<\/strong>\u00a0Read regularly in your home language, and listen to your child read in English. They can talk about the story to you in either language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-processed=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-processed=\"true\">Provide resources:<\/strong>\u00a0A bilingual dictionary can be very helpful. Take advantage of library services to borrow books, including bilingual ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-processed=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-processed=\"true\">Ensure your child is well-rested:<\/strong>\u00a0Learning a new language is tiring. Make sure your child gets enough sleep so they can be fresh for school<span id=\"iG40xafzxNoCshbIPmbvjiQc_1\" data-processed=\"true\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\">Foster a positive environment:<\/strong>\u00a0Create a secure and happy environment at home. Your belief in your child&#8217;s abilities is very important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\">Engage with the school:<\/strong>\u00a0Attend school events and workshops.
