A Parent Council consists of parents from a school community who come together with the aim to work in partnership with the school, fostering relationships and creating opportunities for growth and enrichment for the children of the school.
Parent Council’s require committee members to fill the roles of Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary to operate and have meetings each term and an annual AGM meeting usually in September.
Every parent within Dysart Primary is automatically part of the Parent’s forum and are welcome to attend any Parent Council meeting, whether it be just to listen or to take part.
A Parent Council has its own bank account and organises several fundraising activities for pupils and parents each year to raise money which is then spent creating experiences and opportunities for the pupils.
Our Objectives
- To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all parents.
- To promote partnership between the school, its pupils and its parents.
- To develop and engage in activites which support the education and welfare of the pupils.
- To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare if the pupils.

How can you be involved?
Being active in your child’s school life is a fantastic way to support your child and share in memorable experiences together.
By attending Parent Council meetings you create opportunities to make connections with your childs school and influence decisions made concerning them, whilst being supported by the committee.
Parent helpers are required on event days and you will find that no matter how involved you choose to be will be welcoming and grateful for your assistance.
