At Dairsie, our pupil-run glass collection service shows how learning connects across subjects and into real life. Children use their maths skills to measure and track collections, apply literacy to share information with families, and explore the science of recycling and sustainability. They develop enterprise and social studies skills by managing money, setting prices, and understanding how communities work together. Working as a team builds confidence, responsibility, and pride, while also showing how local action contributes to global goals like reducing waste and protecting the planet.
This is interdisciplinary learning in action – purposeful, practical, and making a difference for our community.
Our Future in the Making.
