INTERDISCIPLINARY LEARNING

Interdisciplinary learning is an important part of our curriculum at Dairsie Primary and helps children make meaningful connections across different subjects. It allows learners to apply their knowledge and skills in new and relevant ways, often through real-life contexts, projects or themes. This approach supports deeper learning, encourages curiosity and creativity, and helps pupils see the relevance of their learning to the wider world.

At Dairsie, we use interdisciplinary learning to explore big ideas such as sustainability, citizenship and enterprise. Learning experiences are carefully planned to ensure progression, challenge and coherence across the curriculum. Through rich contexts such as our SDG assemblies, whole school enterprise projects and creative STEM challenges, children develop confidence, collaboration and problem-solving skills while making links across curriculum areas. This approach helps learners see themselves as capable, responsible contributors to their community and beyond.

PROUD of who we are… PROUD of what we do… PROUD of our differences!
