Kitbag is designed to help people become calm, resilient, understand one another better and grow positive relationships. These capacities enable us to deal more effectively with today’s uncertain, complex and challenging world.
Kitbag grew out of the International Features Forum’s (IFF’s) work on ‘psychological capacity’ – the ability to own our psychological responses to being stressed, troubled or overwhelmed, rather than to become the victim of them.
Kitbag opens up a safe space and provides a set of resources to undertake this work without professional help. The main elements are there to become calm, help share feelings, encourage reflection, open up dialogue, grow mutual understanding and inspire hope. It is a multi-sensory resource: its physicality helps people feel grounded and safe.
There is no right or wrong way to use Kitbag. People go at their own pace using some or all the elements each time they use it. Through regular use of Kitbag we can become more resilient and better able to deal with the challenges of everyday life.
