OUTDOOR LEARNING

Outdoor learning is an important part of life at Dairsie. We believe that the outdoors offers powerful opportunities for developing skills, confidence and wellbeing. Whether it’s exploring nature in our local woodland, working together to solve challenges in the playground or growing food in our polytunnel, learning outside helps pupils make real-world connections across the curriculum.

Children take part in regular outdoor sessions that link to maths, literacy, science, health and wellbeing and Learning for Sustainability. From investigating mini-beasts to building dens, mapping routes to planting seeds, our pupils are encouraged to be curious, active and collaborative learners. Outdoor learning at Dairsie supports resilience, creativity and a strong sense of place, helping children to learn with their heads, hands and hearts.
