International education will become fundamental to their realising their potential in such a multicultural and global society.<\/p>\n<p>International education is a broad concept, and it can be exemplified in a variety of forms and experiences. These include school-based experiences, often using ICT, in addition to school links with other\u00a0schools in Britain and\u00a0abroad.\u00a0Learning in and through international education can make learning about any subject or any cross-curricular theme more relevant and fun.<\/p>\n<p>(Extract from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltscotland.org.uk\/internationaleducation\/about\/index.asp\">Learning and Teaching Scotland<\/a>\u00a0website)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Global Citizenship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Developing Global Citizenship at Collydean Primary School focuses on recognising our responsibilities towards each other and the wider world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our aim<\/strong>\u00a0is to ensure all pupils at Collydean Primary School are able to take up their place in the world, contribute to it confidently, successfully and effectively, understanding the rights and responsibilities of living and working in a globalised world.<\/p>\n<p>Our Global Citizenship curriculum focuses on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>education for citizenship<\/li>\n<li>international education<\/li>\n<li>sustainable development education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These areas are developed through a whole school approach and a wide variety of activities<\/p>\n<p>We constantly reflect on our practice, involving all partners, in order to ensure we are developing the skills, knowledge, attitudes and values for all pupils to allow them to flourish and succeed as responsible citizens in a global society.<\/p>\n<p>We will prepare our pupils to be innovative contributors within their school, community, town, country and the world, understanding their role and Scotland\u2019s role within the wider world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Young people growing up in Scotland today can look forward to spending their working lives as citizens of an increasingly complex world.
