Enterprise is important to us because it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>develops skills for learning and employment, such as teamwork, communication and time management<\/li>\n<li>reflects the capacities of a Curriculum of Excellence:\n<ul>\n<li>Successful learners<\/li>\n<li>Confident individuals<\/li>\n<li>Effective contributors<\/li>\n<li>Responsible Citizens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Encourages creativity and innovation<\/li>\n<li>Motivates and engages\u00a0pupils in their learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of Enterprise at Collydean include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Forging links with outside organisations, such as the Magnus Drive Initiative<\/li>\n<li>Supporting charities through fundraising activities for the Shoe Box Appeal, Children in Need, Poppy Appeal, British Heart Foundation, and Sport Relief.<\/li>\n<li>Pupils fundraising for class and whole school initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Our annual Christmas Craft Fair: pupils take responsibility for designing, producing, marketing and selling their craft to families just before Christmas.<\/li>\n<li>Parent involvement with P1-P7 Fun Finish , Stay and Play in nursery, regular coffee mornings and performances<\/li>\n<li>Pupil Council<\/li>\n<li>ECO Council<\/li>\n<li>Health Promoting Schools activities<\/li>\n<li>After school clubs : signing club, chess, athletics, Radiowaves and Fitness Fun<\/li>\n<li>Credit Union<\/li>\n<li>House Heads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pupils and staff at Collydean PS\u00a0\u00a0have a \u201ccan do\u201d \u201cwill do\u201d attitude and\u00a0all are\u00a0involved in the decision making process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Determined to Succeed\u00a0is a national initiative designed to develop pupils&#8217; awareness and understanding of &#8216;enterprise&#8217; and how this can positively affect their lives.
