It involves two trained mediators helping their peers deal with conflict through a series of mediation steps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peer mediation helps young people develop<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 New skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Team work<br \/>\n\u2022 A different way of thinking<br \/>\n\u2022 Negotiation skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Emotional intelligence<br \/>\n\u2022 Problem-solving skills<br \/>\n\u2022 A recognition that they are taken seriously, resulting in<br \/>\nincreased confidence and self-esteem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How Peer Mediation works\u2026<\/strong><br \/>\nUsing mediation skills and techniques helps everyone work<br \/>\nfrom the same starting point.
