The school stands near the outskirts of the village and is set back from the main road. The original building, which is now the school hall, was built in 1836. There is a substantial extension to the main building, built in the 1960s, and a further extension built in 2012. The classrooms are bright, stimulating learning areas which lend themselves to child led learning.
The school has 6 classrooms and office accommodation on 2 floors. At the moment we have a spare classroom, which is used as a library and nurture room.
The Nursery is a separate building with its own enclosed outdoor area. Our learning environments were judged as ‘Very Good’ in ourĀ Care Commission inspection in June 2023.
The school has large grass playing fields, an extensive trim trail and adequate concrete playground areas for wet weather. Our nature garden includes a willow classroom, sensory areas, vegetable plots and seating areas, which all provide opportunities for outdoor learning.
