Language and literacy is integral to the daily life of the nursery, with a rich variety of resources and opportunities to support a child’s learning. Children have opportunities to use puppets to bring stories to life and re-tell in their own words plus numerous opportunities, both inside and out to extend their language and literacy skills.

We regularly have Book Bug sessions in the nursery led by Pauline the librarian from St Andrews library. We will however be extending this as a member of staff has now been BOOK BUG trained so will be inviting our new children into the school to share a session with us as part of their transition into school.

In the nursery garden we have our Outdoor Recipe book in which we have been writing our creations from our guddling area.
