Pupils will work on key skills such as speaking clearly, maintaining eye contact, and using an appropriate volume to engage their audience. In <\/span><span id=\"text_ngRSO1imGG4\" class=\"TextBodySpecial\">writing<\/span><span id=\"text_anRSO1ymGG4\" class=\"\">, we will be developing imaginative pieces, with a strong focus on structure (beginning, middle, and end), as well as using speech marks and descriptive language such as adjectives. Pupils will work towards producing a final creative writing piece to showcase these skills.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_VhZl75nX8r9\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_IhbVYs1iQA3\" class=\"\">In <\/span><strong><span id=\"text_5obVYsHiQA3\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\">Numeracy<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"text_uubVYsXiQA3\" class=\"\">, learning will be active and practical. We will explore <\/span><span id=\"text_h-cVYsniQA3\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\">measurement<\/span><span id=\"text_6GbVYs1hQA3\" class=\"\">, including length, weight, and volume\/capacity, as well as introducing <\/span><span id=\"text_vMbVYsHhQA3\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\">perimeter and area<\/span><span id=\"text_iTbVYsXhQA3\" class=\"\">. Pupils will also learn about <\/span><span id=\"text_VabVYsnhQA3\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\">time<\/span><span id=\"text_wqaVYs1gQA3\" class=\"\">, including reading and converting between 12-hour and 24-hour time, and applying this knowledge through real-life contexts such as using timetables.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"paragraph_vTZl75HX8r9\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"text_iD-HgIrrDuC\" class=\"\">Our <\/span><span id=\"text_VK-HgI5sDuC\" class=\"TextBodyEmph color_TextEmph\"><strong>IDL<\/strong> topic<\/span><span id=\"text_60-HgILrDuC\" class=\"\"> this term is <\/span><span id=\"text_v6-HgIbrDuC\" class=\"TextBodySpecial\">The Victorians<\/span><span id=\"text_ue-HgIrsDuC\" class=\"\">, which we have already chosen together as a class. Pupils will take ownership of their learning by exploring areas they are most interested in. These may include Victorian housing, famous people, schools, inventors, and clothing.
