At Carnegie Nursery we aim to ensure that there is a welcoming atmosphere and a positive ethos, and that all children are educated in a safe, secure, happy and health- promoting environment.
Our nursery values are the same as our school values – Respect, Kindness and Ambition. We hope through these values to foster a community of tolerance, care and growth mindset. Our nursery motto is ‘Growing Together, Soaring to Success’. The learning and achievement of all children is valued and high aspirations and ambitions are actively promoted.
Carnegie Nursery is a custom built nursery which opened in 2011. The nursery provides Early Learning and Childcare to families from the Dunfermline area.
The nursery is open 39 weeks of the year and currently offers 1140 hours to each child enrolled in our nursery.
Carnegie nursery runs:
Monday – Friday: 09.00am – 3.00pm
The nursery has 2 rooms for 3-5 year olds (Butterfly and Ladybird). Both rooms are bright, welcoming and well maintained. There is access to a secure outdoor play provision which provides rich and challenging opportunities for the children. There is a shared snack and lunch area. The nursery has access to the school building including the use of the gym hall, Hub and classrooms, which supports transition.
In addition to this we regularly use the school building to accommodate parent groups, such as Bookbugs and Toddlers.
Throughout their time in nursery our children enjoy a variety of interesting activities which encourage and support them to learn through play. It also promotes their creativity and curiosity. We aim to develop their confidence and independence and help them to establish positive attitudes which will be carried forward as they move on in life.
The Nursery staff work together as a team to provide the best possible learning environment for our children. We work hard to ensure all families feel welcomed and included.
