Select bus CM1 .<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #339966\">Information for parents and carers of children and young people who travel to \/ from school by bus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There is a network of bus services in Fife available to get children to and from school. Your child may be entitled to free transport but, if not, your child can use a bus if they pay a fare.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966\">Entitlement<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fife Council policy is to provide free transport for a primary aged child attending their catchment area school who lives more than one mile away and for a secondary aged child attending their catchment area school who lives more than two miles away.<\/p>\n<p>You can check your child\u2019s catchment area school at www.fifedirect.org.uk\/catchmentchecker<\/p>\n<p>If you have made a successful placing request for your child to attend a school outwith their catchment area your child will have to pay a fare to travel by bus.<\/p>\n<p>If your child is entitled to free transport they will be allocated to a bus and issued with a travel pass. If you do not live on a bus route your child may be entitled to travel by taxi or minibus for all or part of their journey. You should contact your child\u2019s school to enquire about the other types of transport that may be available.<\/p>\n<p>If your child is not entitled to free transport they can pay a fare to the driver or purchase a ticket in advance from the bus company. The bus company can help you decide the best ticket for your child\u2019s journey.<\/p>\n<p>Free transport is normally provided for travel to\/from your child\u2019s home address. If your child is travelling to\/from an alternative address they should pay a fare.<\/p>\n<p>Bus service information can be found:<br \/>\n\u2022 on your child\u2019s school website at www.fifedirect.org.uk<br \/>\n\u2022 by visiting www.travelfife.com\/schoolbustimetables<br \/>\nOther Transport Requests<br \/>\nYour child\u2019s school is the primary point of contact for all enquiries and requests for transport assistance.<br \/>\n1. In exceptional circumstances transport may be provided for a child that would not normally be entitled to transport.<br \/>\n2. If a child has an Additional Support Need, a disability or a medical need they may be eligible for supported transport.
