Outdoor Learning at Canmore<\/span><\/h3>\n

Canmore follows the outdoor learning framework from Learning through Landscapes.\u00a0 In the Early\u00a0and Middle\u00a0Years of Primary, this is through the \u2018<\/span>Natural Connections<\/span><\/b>\u2019 programme.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Natural Connections is an outdoor learning programme developed by\u202fthe Countryside section of Community Services, Fife Council. Natural Connections is based on the belief that the best outdoor learning combines adventure skills, personal and social development and learning about the environment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning outside the classroom is\u202fthe use of places other than the school for teaching and learning. It is about getting children and young people out and about, providing them with challenging, exciting and different experiences to help them learn.\u00a0\u00a0Studies have\u202fshown increased student enthusiasm for learning outdoors. Outdoor experiences help students increase their understanding of their natural and human communities which leads to a sense of place. Through connection to place, students develop stronger environmental attitudes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
