{"id":1445,"date":"2024-01-23T10:03:55","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T10:03:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/blairhallps\/?page_id=1445"},"modified":"2026-03-26T11:46:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T11:46:32","slug":"rights-respecting-school","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/blairhallps\/school-information\/initiatives\/rights-respecting-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Rights Respecting School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to say Blairhall PS is now a Silver: Rights Aware school, as part of UNICEF&#8217;s Rights Respecting Schools accreditation scheme.\u00a0 This means that there is evidence we are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explicitly embedding the\u00a0<a id=\"OWA57858032-1426-7600-0774-5d9d0535dd5e\" class=\"x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org.uk\/rights-respecting-schools\/the-rrsa\/introducing-the-crc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-loopstyle=\"linkonly\" data-linkindex=\"0\">UN Convention on the Rights of the Child<\/a>\u00a0in our policy, practice and culture.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting knowledge and understanding of the Convention throughout our school community.<\/li>\n<li>Children and young people are beginning to see themselves as rights respecting global citizens and advocates for fairness and children\u2019s rights, both locally and globally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_elementToProof\">This is a great achievement that we are really proud of. \u00a0Our Rights Committee will now start working on an action plan to take us towards our Gold award.<\/p>\n<p>As a school we have been working on our whole school charter. This uses rights based language to support discussions and share our expectations around positive behaviour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/glowscotland-my.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/g\/personal\/gw10belljennifer6_glow_sch_uk\/IQD-w3GahqOUToPGxDc4FA8BAb0Cm5SWSxA7Ma-swKPuu_k?e=g5vsx0\">Whole school charter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have also translated our whole school charter into different languages that are spoken by members of our school community.
