We participated in the Walk and Wheels Survey 2026 and are very proud of our results. As you can see below, we came second in Fife, 6th in Scotland and 49th across the whole of the UK.<\/p>\n

Frankie was in school today to visit and deliver the Fresh Air Frankie School Travel Plan Award. Please see some of the photos from our gathering where the entire school celebrated the success of this group of pupils for the good of our entire school community.<\/p>\n

Our newly founded FACT (Frankies Active Campaigners Team) met with Trudy the Travel Plan Co-ordinator on Thursday 28th<\/sup>\u00a0November. The children completed a mapping exercise to identify key routes they travel when walking to school. The children were very excited to receive their FACT lanyards, badges, pencils and High-Viz vest. Look out for FAST in and around the community where they plan to undertake a route audit of the surrounding area around the school community.<\/p>\n

The RNLI Lifeguards were in school to update the entire school about water safety before the school summer holidays. See some of our pupils joining in their demonstration.<\/p>\n

At the Promise Scotland Stories of Change Conference on Monday 5th February 2024, Minister Natalie Don, Minister for Children, Families and Keeping the Promise announced during her keynote speech: Reflections on progress and working together to keep the Promise announced that Benarty Primary School was the first school in Scotland to achieve the Promise Scotland Schools Award<\/strong> following our staff working to complete a professional learning package to improve their understanding of the Promise and how better to understand and work with our Care Experienced young people.<\/p>\n

Pupils from a variety of classes attended the local care home in January to perform their highland dancing to the residents. They did a fantastic job and showed great confidence and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n

Pupils from p6\/7 and p7 did a great job performing Christmas songs in Makaton to the Benarty Companions Group at the Benarty Centre in December before celebrating at their Christmas party.<\/p>\n

P6\/7 and P7 have succeeded in creating a pupil-led tuck shop this year which runs weekly and has currently raised over \u00a31200!<\/p>\n

Benarty was awarded the Silver School Sport Award in September 2023 and is now working towards achieving our gold award.<\/p>\n

The girls football team participated in a tournament at Lochgelly High School on the 7th March 2024.<\/p>\n

On the 8th March 2024 the P7 Netball Team competed at the Fife Netball Tournament where Kieran Power was awarded a Sporting Integrity Award by the umpire.<\/p>\n

On the 13th February the P7 Netball Team were presented with their award from the Cluster Netball Tournament.<\/p>\n

This spring, the children from Benarty participated in the Dundee Courier ‘Draw Your Mum’ competition. The children were invited to draw an adult at home. we are delighted to announce that 14 of our primary 5’s and 6’s pictures were published in the newspaper on the 4th March. This year’s school performance, including children from Primary’s 5,6 & 7 was performed on Wednesday 13th March 2024 at the Lochgelly Centre. This wonderful performance was enjoyed by both the audience and the children who participated.<\/p>\n

“Any dream will do….<\/p>\n

Last night our residents were kindly invited up to Lochgelly Centre to see the amazing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, performed by the wonderful Benarty Primary School. Our residents had an absolute blast. A massive well done to all pupils and staff for such a colourful performance. We are so proud of you all. Thanks a lot for having us, what a great night.<\/p>\n
