Fife Enterprise Maths success

On Thursday, a team of S3 and S4 pupils represented the school at the Fife Enterprise Maths Day.  This involved the team competing against other Fife schools to tackle a series of mathematical problem-solving activities.  The day proved both very enjoyable and very successful as the team ran out convincing winners.

Congratulations go to the team of Elanor Thompson, Sam Clark, James Painter and Cameron Brown.  The team will now be invited to participate in the national final to be held at the Science Centre in Glasgow.

Our ‘thanks’ go to Glenrothes High School for organising the day.

Activities Day

The imminent change of timetable always marks the beginning of Health Week, including Activities Day.  Pupils have had the opportunity to participate in both off-site and on-site activities for the last two days.

Pupils have been able to participate in activities such as trampolining (Ryze), playing football golf, paintballing and Eco workshops.

These day are valuable in terms of enhancing staff/pupil relationships in the school….and they are tremendous fun for everyone!

A huge ‘thank you’ to all of the staff and representatives/partners – SRUC, Cupar in Bloom, Fraser Allan, Cupar Fairtrade, Forestry Commission, St Andrews University’s Geobus, Cupar Foodbank, RSPB, SSPCA, Royal Highland Education Team, Police Scotland, The Scottish Plant Hunters and Countryside Alliance – who organised events for our pupils.

P7 Transition Day

The school welcomed P7 pupils from our cluster primary schools to a Transition Day last Wednesday.  The pupils had a very busy day creating garments out of recycled material for a fashion show; participating in lots of outdoor activities during a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award session, and finding information around the school in a treasure hunt.

Last week’s event was a fantastic opportunity for the P7 pupils to meet staff, find their way around the building and participate in some great activities.

A big ‘thank you’ to all of the staff who helped make the day such a success.

We look forward to seeing everyone again in June!
