The EMA is a weekly payment of £30 for young people who are planning to continue in post-compulsory education.  Payments are awarded based on the taxable household income of families.

Applications can be made and further information – including eligibility criteria – found on Fife Direct’s Education Maintenance Allowance site.

Look what happened in May

With our senior pupils out on Study Leave you would think that things would be quieter in the school – this wasn’t the case during a busy May.

We welcomed the P7s to Bell Baxter for a day of “getting to know the school” activities; our S2 Business classes worked together to raise an incredible £784.90 as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, and we had a team win the Creative Spaces Challenge.

Well done to pupils and staff!

Check out the film on the Bell Baxter HS YouTube channel.

Professional football contract signed by U19s goalkeeper

Congratulations to Ben Swinton (S6) who signed his first professional contract with Dunfermline Athletic Football Club last week.

A product of AM Soccer and the school’s football teams, this honour caps an amazing season for Ben who won the Fife Cup and League trophies with the school; Ben added a victory in a national cup competition.

This hard working young player will join his teammates at Dunfermline during the summer.  Good luck!

ICT Acceptable Use Policy – P7 pupils

To ensure that our new S1 pupils can access the school network as soon as they arrive at Bell Baxter, we are encouraging P7 parents and carers to read and complete the school’s acceptable use policy for ICT: see below for link.

The policy sets out the expectations of pupils when they are using IT facilities within the school.  Parents, carers and pupils should carefully read the policy and submit the form acknowledging that they understand its contents and agree to our expectations;  pupils’ responsibilities will be covered again in class.

Thank you.
