BBC’s “Digging for Britain”

We are delighted to announce that the pupils who participated in the archaeological dig – East Lomond – last June helped to uncover a Bronze Age burial cist.  Samples of cremated bones were taken for analysis, telling us that part of the 1st – 7th century site we were excavating actually had earlier activity dating back to circa 2,200 BC.

The excavation will be the featured dig for the BBC’s “Digging for Britain (North)” programme.  The episode featuring the dig on East Lomond will include interviews with staff from Falkland Centre for Stewardship and will be aired on Wednesday, 6th December.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at Falkland Centre for Stewardship for allowing our pupils to be involved in the project – it has just confirmed how special East Lomond has always been!

Study Support Programme, Session 2017-18

The Study Support Programme due to run until March, 2018 is now available for download.  Pupils should check the programme to ensure they know when sessions run throughout the week.  As you can see from the programme, a number of sessions have additional pieces of information attached to them – please read the programme carefully.

Just a reminder, pupils are responsible for making their own arrangements to get home following attendance at a study support session.
