Our S1 pupils enjoyed a trip to the National Museum of Scotland on Wednesday and Thursday this week as part of the S1 Social Studies & Citizenship curriculum.
The pupils were able to step back – from Mesozoic (dinosaurs) to Palaeolithic – into history and step forward into the future in a single day. In addition to exploring the exhibits, the pupils were challenged by staff to find information out about some of the exhibits making it a very busy and enjoyable trip.
A huge ‘thank you’ to the staff for organising such a fantastic trip.
Well done to the S1 girls’ netball team who finished runners up in the Plate competition at today’s Dave Garland Netball Tournament. After a close game, the girls finally lost out 2-1 to Beath High School.
The team have had some outstanding results this year and we look forward to the girls’ progression next year.
Our ‘thanks’ go to Glenrothes High School for organising the tournament, and well done to Beath HS on their victory.
One of our S2 classes (2.04) was given a design brief to create, in groups, a dress costume marking the “Day of the Dead” – “Dia de los Muertos” – festival. The costumes were based on the mask the pupils had created using recycled materials, including paper sculpture, last term.
The work which was done by the pupils was incredible and really caught the essence of the festival.
