S2 Edinburgh International Book Festival visit

A group of S2 pupils visited the Edinburgh International Book Festival as part of the Teenage Fiction enrichment this week. Pupils had the opportunity to hear from Darren Shan (“Zom-B” series), Lauren James (Sci-fi writer) and Philip Reeve (“Mortal engines” author). The authors talked about how they write; where they got inspiration from, and the pitfalls of being an author.

Graphic Communication pupils provide signage for local business

Higher and National 5 Graphic Communications pupils have been working with local company Kettlebridge Bar & Restaurant to design new signage for the business. Using the Laser Cut technology in school, the pupils have been able to design and produce a fantastic new sign – see photographs – for the entrance of the restaurant.

The Faculty of Technologies are delighted that the partnership has enabled pupils to get some industry-level experience.
