TOOLS ONLINE COURSE CHOICE IS NOW OPEN FOR ‘MOCKS’
Stage 1: Deciding on your options
Course choice information for pupils moving from S4 into S5 is now available below:
Faculties will be providing further information to pupils directly in class throughout the course choice window and pupils should speak to their teachers about the options available to them in S5.
In an increasingly competitive world beyond school pupils should seek to maximise their potential success in the senior phase of S5-S6 by choosing courses they are committed to, enjoy and are currently performing best in.
Every pupil will be expected to achieve a full course award in each of the choices they make and pupils returning to school can expect an increased expectation from the school community that they will sustain motivation and a positive attitude to their studies throughout the session.
When making choices pupils should pay particular attention to the recommended levels in their S4 parental report, their estimated levels of achievement this session and think about their intended future pathway and career aspirations.
Pupils should talk to their Guidance Teacher, teachers and Skills Development Scotland partners in the school should they need additional advice about potential pathways and future careers.
There will be an additional opportunity for parents to find out about the options available for young people moving into S5 at an information evening on Tuesday 15th January, 2019. Details will be published on the school website and distributed through Groupcall.
Thinking of leaving school?
All pupils including those who are considering leaving school should complete the course choice process however any pupil likely to leave school at the end of S4 must indicate this in the online course choice system when asked.
