Our DAS pupils were delighted to present Monsignor Pat McInally with a cheque for £500 to be donated to Cupar Foodbank. As part of their Personal Achievement Gold Award, Billy and Joshua, the main organisers of the events, nominated the foodbank to receive support from the Christmas Fayre activities.
Pupils and staff within the faculty made holly wreaths and table settings with the support of colleagues from SRUC Elmwood, with many businesses donating prizes to the raffle.
The DAS team also had the support of staff and pupils from Kilmaron, Fair Trade group, our senior pupils and one of the Nurture Groups.
A big ‘thank you’ to Miss Tidd and Mrs Clark for supporting the pupils as they put the event together.
The Bell Baxter HS Diary page will again feature in “The Fife Herald” beginning this Friday. The school’s news will appear every third week in the newspaper.
We are keen to share the achievements of our pupils with the wider school community and would encourage local organisations to get in touch with us – email Bell Baxter Enquiries or message us via our Facebook page – about our young people.
Today’s “Christmas Jumper Day” has seen a large number of pupils and staff getting involved with this fundraiser in aid of Cupar Foodbank. The S5 girls – Georgia Griffin, Niamh Callan, Lucy Barclay, Tara Tannock, Chloe Laing, Molly Wilson and Laura Douglas – who have been leading this initiative are delighted with the response to their appeal.
We are delighted to announce that 1285 items were collected this morning contributing to the 130 Christmas hampers which will be distributed to local families this weekend.
Our ‘thanks’ go to Ms Macconnochie and Miss McNeill who supported the girls; to TESCO for supplying some trolleys, and a special mention to Finaly Aitken, Alastair Bell, Bailey Carstairs and Paul Bateman who helped the ladies at the foodbank to unload the goods.
Well done to everyone who has got involved with helping Cupar Foodbank support local families in need!
